In 2000, Jessica and Nick broke up and she continued to record her second album titled Irresistible. By 2001, the record was releases and the title track tops the charts at number 3. In the meantime of success she was having, she and Nick reunited and in October of 2002 they were married. In 2003, Jessica released her third album called In the Skin; this album went to number 2 on the charts. It has been said that Jessica’s music never reached the top spot with her music was because she did not have the sexy flair and excitement as Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera.

MTV offered Nick and Jessica a reality TV show that followed them in their daily lives. They accepted and the show Newlyweds came to be. The show became a hit and soon it overshadowed Jessica’s album. The huge success of the show caused MTV to order 2 more seasons.

In the summer of 2005, the last season of Newlyweds was being taped and Jessica got her first movie role, she won the part of short shorts wearing Daisy Duke in the Dukes of Hazard movie. The movie debuted at number one but it did not bode well for her reputation. In November 2005, Nick and Jessica announced they were splitting up. There were many rumors why and they all pointed to an infidelity of Jessica’s. It was rumored and more than once that she had cheated on Nick. Even after they split, Nick never confirmed or denied those rumors, which actually more people believed them to be true. Jessica was no longer thought of as the sweet innocent girl. Nick won public sympathy and he loved on very well, with a new album and a new girlfriend, TV personality Vanessa Minillo.

Their home was sold to Malcolm in the Middle Star Justin Berkfield who played Reese. In 2006, Jessica’s second movie came out called Employee of the Month. Again, the movie turned a profit but did nothing for her reputation. Jessica has a third movie coming out called Blonde Ambition in 2007. She is currently touring the United Kingdom for the A Public Affair.
